Five Abortion Businesses Shut Down Forever

Posted to Personal Update | Issue 115 | 07/02/2012

In good news for many of America’s unborn babies and their mothers, several notorious abortion businesses that killed babies for decades have finally shut down or been forced to close in recent weeks.

v   The Northern Illinois Women’s Center in Rockford, Illinois, which the state government shut this past October for egregious health and safety violations, has now announced its permanent closing. The abortionist and staffers of this facility were infamous for their repeated blasphemous and obscene reactions to pro-lifers, including Catholic priests, who prayed and counselled outside it.

v   In November, the attorney general for the state of Michigan permanently closed two abortion businesses, one in Delta Township and the other in Saginaw. The offices had medical record violations, had no valid licence, and “had no proper physician ownership as required by state law”, said state officials. The state government has banned the husband-and-wife team who ran them from running any more abortion businesses.

v   The only abortion centre in Santa Fe, New Mexico, was to close forever on December 23, when abortionist Lucia Ceis retired.

v   In Los Angeles, the Eve Surgical Center, which had aborted late-term babies since the 1980s, went out of business in November. Its first owner had boasted that he was the inventor of partial-birth abortions.

v   In St Paul, Minnesota, Regions Hospital said that it would close its abortion office, GYN Special Services Clinic, on December 9.

v   The pro-lifers who have spent years praying and sidewalk counselling outside these abortion centres, and working to close them, are rejoicing and giving thanks to God.
Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, said that these closings and others are happening because more and more Americans are becoming pro-life. Noting that “The number of surgical abortion clinics has dropped from 2,200 in 1991 to only about 675 today”, he commented, “That is quantifiable evidence that we are winning the hearts and minds of the American people. Abortion is a human rights abuse that will soon be rejected and relegated to the ash heap of history.”
