Opportunity to Clarify Irish Abortion Law

The appointment of an ‘expert group’ to consider the options available to the Irish government in responding to the ABC decision of the European Court of Human Rights presents an opportunity to clarify Ireland’s law on abortion. That is the opinion of Paul Brady, a barrister and author, writing recently in the Sunday Business Post. He urges that the group must present the full range of options, spelling out the constitutional, legal, medical, and ethical consequences of each.
