The Anscombe Bioethics Centre is hosting a major international conference on 'double effect' reasoning, in conjunction with Blackfriars Hall, a Permanent Private Hall of Oxford University. This will be held in Blackfriars Hall, St Giles, Oxford OX1 3LY on Saturday 19th February 9.30 - 5.30.
Professor Joseph Boyle of the University of Toronto who is a Visiting Research Fellow of the Anscombe Bioethics Centre in 2011 will give a key note lecture and there will be lectures and panel discussions from Professors Timothy Chappell, John Wyatt, Tom Pink and John Finnis and Professor Sir Anthony Kenny, amongst others.
Places are limited, so please book in advance. Conference registration costs £10, payable on the day, to cover refreshments and a buffet lunch.
The conference will be streamed (video, audio and .ppt slides) live over the internet at www.bioethics.org.uk, allowing anyone not able to travel to Oxford to participate and submit questions to the panel discussion via email.
